Having worked in IT all of my career from programming, infrastructure management and support through to my current role, it’s fantastic to see the effect that Salesforce can have on non-profits to help them do what they are best at. I’m motivated by completing the job properly, on time and to budget.
Experience
My early career was as a programmer and developer in the pharmaceutical industry using IBM RPG/RPG II/RPG400 language. I had a brief sojourn into the commercial banking world (still as a programmer), before returning to the pharmaceutical industry where I joined a small biotech attempting to take a novel treatment for cancer to the market.
I have managed support teams and development teams throughout my later career, whilst still managing to keep my hand in as a techie.
I was introduced to Time Technology while working as an IT consultant for one of Time Technology’s customers. When that work ended in 2011, I joined Time Technology as an IBM Domino/Notes consultant and have stayed ever since. While we still provide Domino/Notes/DOCOVA services, the biggest part of the Service Desk function is now supporting nonprofit customers using Salesforce.
Whilst I’m not a Salesforce techie (yet), I’m studying for my certifications, and hope soon to list Salesforce qualifications alongside my colleagues.
Favourite Salesforce Feature(s)
Salesforce is entirely browser based and doesn’t require any plugins. That means it works basically the same way on Windows, MAC, and Linux. That’s a BIG feature.
